Grand Gate (महादरवाजा):

The main gate of the fort. Chhatrapati probably built the Mahadarwaja as Gomukhi. That means the door is not visible till the very end between the two towers. The door was guarded by guards.

Dindi Darwaja (दिंडी दरवाजा):

A small door adjacent to the main door used mainly for transportation of people.

Obstacles and nails (अडसर आणि खिळे):

After closing the gate of the fort, a horizontal timber was laid on the inside to prevent the door from being opened from outside. For that, nails were placed outside the door. So that the door can be protected from animals like elephants.

Devadi (देवडी):

A sitting and resting place for the guards on the side of the door inside the door itself.

Outpost (चौकी):

Ramoshi, Patwari, Mahar, Mang, Berad etc. used to watch the people on the paths at the foot of the fort. The soldiers assigned to the post used to monitor and inspect the people coming and going. Devadi was also a sort of outpost. They should keep every kind of news and if there is anything suspecious, provide it to the uniformed fort officer immediately and warn him.

Circumference (घेरा):

The perimeter of the fort means all the villages, tracts and localities at the foot of the fort and around it.
