Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s full name is ‘Shivajiraje Shahjiraje Bhosale’. As mentioned above, he was born in the fort of Shivneri in the year 1630 AD. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s mother name is ‘Jijabai Shahajiraje Bhosale’. Whom we also know as Jijau, Jijamata, Rajmata, Maharani Saheb. She named Chhatrapati as ‘Shivaji’ on the name of goddess Shivai of Shivneri Fort. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s father name is ‘Shahajiraje Malojiraje Bhosale’.
Shahajiraje Bhosle suggested to Shivaji Maharaj to make Raigad the capital of Swarajya. It was Shahaji Raje who appointed ‘Dadoji Konddev Kulkarni’ as Shivaji Raje’s primary/first instructor in weaponry. Also Dadoji Konddev was the administrator of Pune.
(Now it is also a matter of debate whether Shivaji Maharaj’s primary/first instructor in weaponry was Dadoji Konddev Kulkarni or not. But it is better that we do not get into this argument.)
